ST GEORGE'S - Junior St. John is the winner of the St. John Parish Celebrations/Fishermen's Birthday Invitational Open Table Tennis Men's Singles Tournament.

He whipped veteran Ray Roberts in four sets 11-8, 11-5, 9-11, 11-9 in the best of five final. St. John was in ripping form in the 12-man competition.

In the semifinals, St. John outplayed Everold John in straight sets, while Roberts accounted for Trevor Layne in four sets.

In the Parish Championship, Everold John won the men's singles,defeating
Alister Antoine while Rose Dinnah captured the women's singles, defeating
Jezzel Cherton 11-3,11-7.

However, Jezzel won the girls' Under-17 category with a straight set win against Shonia Douglas. Kenwon Charles captured both the boys' 12 and Under
and the 17 and Under titles.

This weekend will see the St. George Open Table Tennis Tournament.
