The St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) today defeated the Presentation Brothers’ College (PBC) in a semi-final meet played at the SAASS Hard Court in Telescope, St. Andrew’s (75 points to 64). This means that in the history of the basketball tournament, PBC has always been knocked out by SAASS. The game was exciting and quite a number of students and teachers turned out to witness the enthralling encounter. The leading goal-scorer for SAASS was Leodon Lewis who scored 26 points in the game. SAASS now moves on to the finals and meets Wesley College at the Carenage Basketball Court on Tuesday January 25, 2011. The game will commence at 4 pm. The team that wins two out of the three scheduled games will win the 2011 Inter-secondary Secondary School Basketball Tournament. The coach of the SAASS team, the defending basketball champions, is Mr. Dabreo. In an exclusive interview with Grenadian Connection after the game, he stated that his team is playing very hard and is working assiduously to once again retain the basketball championship trophy this year.
