ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16TH, 2011 _ A new activity is being incorporated in this year’s Youth Month celebration. The ‘Youth Have It!’ Exposition will be held on Saturday November 26th from 11:00 a.m. The Youth Service and Leadership programme of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Sports is responsible for planning and executing the activities of Youth Month. Coordinator of that programme, Jackie Alexis, said “After seeing the wealth of talent young people possess at our summer programme, we decided to give them an opportunity to show the country what they could do.” The Expo will feature exhibits by young people in various sectors and fashion and cultural shows. “We have a lot of young people coming in with their arts and crafts from performing arts, visual arts, graphic arts, jewellery making to fashion designing,” said Alexis. “While we have all these young people in one space, we also invited some of the corporate bodies to showcase their products, see what the young people are producing and also talk to the young people about employment and career opportunities within their organization,” she added. Two mini fashion shows will also be held, as well as a cultural show featuring young talent and some local artistes like Otis, Nekoyan and Lil Natty and Thunda.
