PRIME MINISTER CONCERNED ABOUT CONTINUED INDUSTRIAL ACT...
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, 21 DECEMBER 2011_ Grenada’s Prime Minister, Hon. Tillman Thomas, could not authorize, advise, nor did he attempt to influence the Special Services Unit (SSU) of the Royal Grenada Police Force to intervene in the current industrial impasse affecting the Grenada Breweries Limited. The Prime Minister said his administration respects “the independence of the Royal Grenada Police Force to make decisions in the interest of upholding law and order in Grenada.” According to the Grenadian leader, his office “could not and would not” attempt to direct the actions of the RGPF in the execution of its duties. However, Prime Minister Thomas has expressed concern over the ongoing industrial action, especially at the Christmas season and has called on all sides to use the negotiating process to solve the situation. “We continue our efforts to work with all sides to achieve an amicable resolution to the impasse. We must ensure that ordinary Grenadians who depend on the economic activity over the Christmas season for a livelihood, are not adversely affected,” the Prime Minister said Wednesday. He acknowledged the right of the workers to withhold their labor but suggested that the rights of all parties must be respected.

Stallion, I support your response wholeheartedly and thought I'm a critic of the prime minister, it's pertinent that he has the right people on his side. As you may have observed, Tillman Thomas is not the best spokesperson who can maneuver his way through certain issues. His weaknesses should not be so visible because those socal advisers including Aaron Moses should be briefing him or putting themselves before the public (TV and radio) to defend whatever accusations, issues and staunch the PM might be facing. These guys (PM advisers) are inefficient, ineffective and ill equipped to hold such highly paid position. I really hope our shadow PM Nazim Burke is paying attention and hope to capitalize on Tillman Thomas's weaknesses. And let it be known that Kennedy Budhall us simply an opportunist. He's criticising Tillman Thomas and looking to jump party line because he sees the NNP winning the next election. Momentarily, I wish to inform him, Strachan and Gang of 17 that they are all menaces to society.

morning gentlemen.even if i wasnt commenting on the opinions here,i have been reading them on a regular basis.but i must say that for a long time i have been advocating that the prime minister is a good man,but he is rather weak.those stiffs and ministers that he surround himself with should have been fired a long time ago.when is the prime minister going to step up and take the bull by the horns?the opposition leader on the other hand has kept the prime minister on the defensive since he took office.sometimes i wonder if its keith mitchell that running the country.

Dear Sam i too share your concerns as to why the Prime Minister advisers appears to be no where to be found at this time when they are most needed in coming to the defence of our prime minister and i will also as far as to agree with you that here in grenada there are thoes who are put in position simply because their faces fit but is not fit for the job to which they are paid to do (protecting and advising our prime minister) and defending the corner of our prime minister in times of political attack from the oppositions and history shows that this is the way in grenada for in reality these advisers do not worth their salt and they should all be sacked from the position to which they hold. one love.
