GRENADA GOVERNMENT COMMITS TO KEEPING MBIA OPERATIONAL
ST. GEORGE, GRENADA, 13th FEBRUARY, 2012_The Government of Grenada gives the fullest possible assurance to the general public and visitors to Grenada that the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) will remain in full and effective operation. Information Minister, Senator Glen Noel, on Monday said the administration will make the necessary financial arrangements for the Airports Authority to ensure the facility remains open to daily traffic. “The government will do whatever is necessary to ensure the airport remains operational. The MBIA is vital to our economy and we will ensure that the daily operations of the facility are not compromised,” Senator Noel said. He said, while it is a fact that the airlines servicing Grenada have been directed to pay monies due to the Airports Authority into a special account, the Government of Grenada will act “promptly and decisively”, to ensure that the Authority continues to service the airlines, visitors and the travelling public. The situation arose due to a court judgment obtained by EXIM Bank of Taiwan against the Government of Grenada for the repayment of outstanding loans. The Government will give a complete update on the status of efforts aimed at bringing a resolution to the debt with EXIM Bank of Taiwan, during the presentation of the 2012 budget.

Good evening Littleboy, unfortunately, the only way our people would come to understand what's going on is to let them feel it where it hurt most, in the pockets. Taiwan has all rights under the law to extract as much financial damages from our country to repair the deceitful damage done to her. As they pressure our government to repay what is owed to them, the financial burden would then have to be triggered down to the ordinary man on the street. Our loans, grants and tax dollars would ave to be used to repay them. Therefore, monies geared toward social services, medical care, education and etc. will have to be re-allocated to pay off portion of the debt. Then and only then would our people come to realize what's going on. Hit them hard where it hurts most, so our people can come to the understanding that these guys are not what they tought they were.

Observer what can I say my brother, you and I are on the same wave length. I could not have said it any better. I am in total agreeance with you. I only wish we could somehow put them in jail, but our people are so ignorant, and they keep putting these guys back in there again and again only to be made fools.

Contrary to most of you who are either wooing for or against Keith Mitchell and Tillman Thomas, I would like to voice that neither of those two guys are Grenada's problem. Our country's problem lies in the ignorance of it people. According the theBible, "My people are destroyed all because of ignorance-lack of knowledge." Yes, the ignorance of you and I who are deadbeat on unquestonably re-electing one of the two back into offfice, especially when they have failed to show any forward leap of progress. We are the evaluateors of our leaders. But again, who else is qualified and capable of running aganist and beating thm? If we failed to hold them accountable for progress or moving the country in the right direction, then how dare we attempt to criticise and blame them for Grenada's ills! Whatever occurred at the United Nations amongst our country, China and Taiwan's representatives during Keith Mitchell's administration and the Tillman Thomas' government should not have occurred. Hindsight should have told us that to vote against a country that is fighting for its own independent from a dominieering empire, just as we once did against the British devastating is counter-productive to rule of ethics. The Taiwanese government has all right to hold our country or its government hostage for every cent owed. Now it up to us to ensure that those involved in the shady deals are held responsible and punished. But once more, who the hell has the knowledge, ability and power to question and punish those low down idiots who would trade principles and values for bloody million dollars...only in Grenada...it's just a simply re-enactment of when our ancesters were sold into slavery by their very own arents, siblings, relatives, neighbors, vilage, etc...the bloody trends would forever continue.

If these clowns in Grenada want to vote for Keith Mitchel and go back to the same old status quo, then they truly deserve what they get. They are known by their reputation to self destruct anyway so I most of all will never be surprised.

Grenada is in a real sad situation, they cannot do too much to bargain for anything and they have nothing to give. Tillam could have attempted to reach out to Taiwan but then again Mitchel made such a mess of things with his ugly self by the way he treated Taiwan, and China also now will not be too pleased if we tried to reason with Taiwan anyway and they are indeed helping the Grenada goverment and these idiots have no appreciation. I say do a complete audit of all the occurences and all the funds that were to be disbursed to Gda. from China. If there are any dishonesty by the Mitchel goverment, we have to start first and make a good example by putting Mitchel in JAIL where he truly belongs, but this is situation dread.

Little boy, what you fail to realize, Grenada got stuck with this crisis while you and Tillman played politics with the head of the people. way you hear a country borrow money and it is the responsibility of the former prime minister to pay it back. man you to dhotish. The loan is Grenada own and it does not matter who the Prime Minister or the Government is, we have to pay for it. If we use your dhotish reasoning then the former Prime Minister could sell the assets the loan was taken to acquire and pay it of. Man doh try to insult the intelligence of the Grenadian people, we better than dat.
