AMERICAN AIRLINES TO INCREASE FLIGHTS INTO GRENADA
St George’s November 13, 2012: American Airlines (AA) will re-introduce a fourth flight into Grenada as of November 21st 2012. In September this year American Airlines, in collaboration with the Government of Grenada, announced a reduction of its schedule, due to a decrease in demand for seats. Minister for Tourism, Sen. George Vincent, in welcoming the announcement, praised the efforts of the Airlift Committee, the Ministry and Board of Tourism and the Airline for facilitating the increase. “American Airlines is really keen on the load factors at this time of the year and we can only attribute this to hard work in marketing the country and the efforts of the Grenada Airlift Committee,” said Sen. Vincent. Industry officials say the Airline has indicated its interest in increasing the number of flights by five in the spring of 2013 if market conditions remain favorable. American Airlines, as of November 21st , will operate four inbound flights into Grenada on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and outbound flights on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Yes, it's good news that some of you are glorifying the arrival of the Sandal Hotels and increase in AA flights to our Country. However, I wish to advise our government and emplyers to ensure those employed at the ports of entry are properly trained in customer service. Too often some of our Grenadian in diaspora, African-Americans and people of African ancestry are maginalized and given sub-customer service, heckled...as opposed to their counterpart-white visitors...we must understand that the US dollar, whether spent by Operah or Bill Gates carries the same value...Black folk do give tips as their White counterpart...give them equally and see your tip increase...some of you including Gabe have failed to realize that returning Grenadians often spend and pump more money into the local economy than their White counterpart. Yes, they do...in car rental, accommodation, handouts to family and friends, money spent at the local shops, etc. Grenadians, learn to appreciate your fellow people...it's time we rise above the slave mental epidemic and stop hating yourselves wheever you see a Black brother or sister. Please, free yourself of this mental slavery.
