GRENADA’S OECS SUPREME COURT ARREARS DATE BACK TO THREE...
The Grenada Government has disclosed that monies the country owes to the OECS Supreme Court date back to three years ago. The Keith Mitchell Administration, which has been in office for just a year, says, however, that it has begun the process of paying the outstanding amount. Attorney General, Cajeton Hood, says Grenada owes the regional court $3.3 million dollars and one third of that amount is being paid. “If you look at it proportionally, I believed that there were arrears due since the year 2011. The contributions are calculated on an annual basis, so if it happens that you do not pay your yearly contribution it backs up into an arrears,” Hood said during a post-cabinet news conference on Tuesday. “The $3.3 million will take into consideration arrears which existed since 2011 and arrears that would have accumulated up to date.” A Supreme Court Sitting which was to be held in Grenada from February 24-28 has been withdrawn. Legal Affairs Minister, Elvin Nimrod, says he believes the decision of the court came about because the previous administration refused to pay. “The last payment made to that body was in 2011. If you do the math you would realize what role NDC played in actually bringing about this situation today,” Nimrod said. “In other words, NDC, I should say today, has occasioned this embarrassment of which they speak and so should not be heard now complaining about it.” Source: gov.gd

GRENADA’S OECS SUPREME COURT ARREARS DATE BACK TO THREE...
Minister Elvin Nimrod sir it is very sad when a an experience minister like your self comes out with such negative report re the statement concerning the overdue payment to the OECS Supreme Court as being in part quote the fault of the previous Government and once again highlights the very political mentality and behaviour of your government i say this because when the previous government came into power your nnp government left behind a massive balance of payments owed to several loan agencies for which the then incoming NDC government had to manage with strigent fiscal policies ,and repay some of these agencies, so today i find it strange that your nnp government came into power with a fanfare of JOBS,INVESTORS, and uniting our country yet once again we find our country ,our people is now worst off in fact grenada is now the beggers of the Caribbean at the mercy of all sorts of Jonny come lately with a few dollars in his back pocket wishing to buy a passport so that they can get rid of funny money.Mr Elvin Nimrod i sincerely believe that your government owes our people an apology for lieing and deceiving them with all that false promises made before that fateful election and now today we are seeing the fruits/results of such political deceiving behaviour by your government the deceiving party.
