GRENADA CAN ACCESS MORE THAN US$100 MILLION, SAYS PM MI...
Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell says Grenada can draw down more than the estimated US$100 million dollars once it meets set targets during the three-year Home Grown Programme. The Prime Minister says Grenada is expecting US$30 million from the World Bank, US$30 million from the Caribbean Development Bank and an unlimited amount from the European Union. “If we perform well; if we meet our targets in the Programme, the total amount of money will be above US$100 million dollars,” Prime Minister Mitchell said. “But it depends on all of us.” The Prime Minister was speaking at a news conference, Tuesday morning, after the IMF announced, over the weekend, that it had reached a US$21.9 million dollar agreement with Grenada. “This is just the IMF’s initial contribution to the programme,” Prime Minister Mitchell explained. “But you have the World Bank, who is providing at least US$30 million dollars of soft loans; Caribbean Development Bank is providing US$30 million dollars; the European Union is providing significant support – and that is not soft loans, that is a grant and the sky is the limit there.” World Bank and CDB officials were in St. George’s recently negotiating with Government on the money Grenada is expected to receive. GRENADA CAN ACCESS MORE THAN US$100 MILLION, SAYS PM MI...
Listen you were one of those people who over the years seems to be stuck in one gear with the mentality of someone who repeats everything your master says and it is a dam shame that you are failing to think for your self,my friend i say this to you ,your party and leader the RH KCm has been in power here in grenada for well over some 20 years or so,and during these time some would say yes he has done some good in advancing some things for example tourist industry in some aspect, and it has always been at a HEAVY COST to the people of grenada and it is a dam shame that you and others like you have failed to recognise these short coming in a man and his party who acts and behaves as though grenada and its people is their private property to do as they like ,so my friend here it is ,this time they have gone to far in the deceitful way in which they lied and deceive our unsuspecting people into voting for them promising JOBS when in fact today hard working people is loosing their jobs,no tax rise when infact our people is now worst off than they were under the NDC,no IMF ,when in fact it is now the IMF who is now running Grenada ,so Listen stand back and take these blinkers from your eyes and read a good book, listen to what is hapening in the world around you, come out off that closed closet and finally good my friend when history looks back on the premiership of one Mr Kcm it will note that he did do some good ,but he was also spiteful, egoistical, and talks about how he cares for Grenada yet did things that resulted in grenadians having to be indebted to the IMF,and THE WORLD BANK for years to come and put our country in a position that for years to come we will always be at the beck and call off these money lending institutions because of your party and leader begging mentality,

Dr, Keith, PS Antoine, Advisor Antoine, etc: you are the real deal. We took back our country by a RESOUNDING victory one year ago in National Elections. It was historic! Well...not really....you did it before. Now, I am seeing action and progress after the shameful stunt in progress and unprecedented political garbage that plagued our country for the past 4 or so years. I hope someone in your admininstration might stumble on this post. I believe in your competence and what you bring to table and the national stage. We support your wholeheartedly. KEEP GOING! GOD BLESS.

We all want Grenada to do well, but these loans we need to service our debt and keep the country running are going to come at a high cost. Let us not only focus on the arrival of money, if it does come. As you heard, gov't has to meet certain "targets" to get these funds. When these news release about successful funding are made, they should also state the conditions that have to be met for these monies to be delivered. Grenadians may not be so excited about the available new loans if they fully knew the cost of these loans to them.

Thank you very much Nutmeg Farmer. You surely shed some light on what we are getting into. I can tell you are a serious and patriotic Grenadian. You are quite realistic and definitely not a political cheer leader. Listen seems all excited like a child but of course there are conditions attached to the loans, grants etc. I don't believe there were high level negotiations. I think it's just the IMF and others conditions for their money, take it or leave it. I hope Listen read and understand your post. Maybe he listens to the wrong folks.

Joe: thanks for your objective and informative posts. I get real facts and pleasure from reading it.We serve no real purpose simply as cheerleaders for a party or a personality. Decisions politicians of both parties make have serious impacts on the lives of all us Grenadians. We provide a better service with unbiased evaluations than mere cheer leading.

The PM should be honest and divulge the pain and suffering Grenadians will experience with IMF loans. The European Union can provide meager grants as they are dead broke.

Only Dr. Keith and the Antoines can handle these high level negotiations (PS Antoine and Patrick Antoine). GOOD JOB, GENTLEMEN!

The devil have its supporters. Guys just leave the Grenadian people they are not even learning the hard way. IMF is a money lender with interest. What will happen is ,Keith will not be PM to pay these loans back as he always does.
