NLA HANDS OVER LAND DOCUMENTS FOR KIRANI JAMES |

ST. GEORGE’S - FRIDAY, 11TH APRIL, 2014 –At a Press Conference held at the Carenage Sporting Complex on Friday involving officials from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Ecclesiastical Affairs and the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Gerard James received the documents for a parcel of land at Dougaldston Estate in the Parish of St. John on behalf of his brother, Kirani James – Grenada first and only Olympic medalist.
After winning the 2011 I.A.A.F. World 400M Race, Kirani James was promised a gift of a parcel of land, compliments the National Lotteries Authority (NLA).
Speaking at the conference, Permanent Secretary Veda Bruno-Victor of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Ecclesiastical Affairs expressed her delight in handing over the documents for the land that was purchased by the NLA. PS Bruno-Victor was ably assisted by NLA’s Board Director, Ms. Genevieve Gibbs.
Kirani James is currently attending the University of Alabama and, at the same time, works as a professional athlete. He is expected to compete for Grenada in the upcoming Drakes Relays which is scheduled for April 23rd – 27th, 2014.
