GRENADA GOVERNMENT MOVING TO RESUME HOUSE REPAIR PROGRA...
Social Development Minister Hon. Delma Thomas has announced that government will soon resume its House Repair Programme. Minister Thomas says the delay in resuming the Programme is as a result of huge debts owed to suppliers. The Social Development Minister told Tuesday’s post cabinet news briefing that government will begin making payments to those suppliers in roughly two weeks. “What we are looking at, at present, is a lot of outstanding bills as it relates to housing material. We owe the lumberyard, as far back as 2008, since in our [previous administration],” said Minister Thomas. “The last administration has also had huge debts that we also have to look at because you cannot ask a lumberyard to give you material, give you credit, and there is no money coming forward. So, at present, we are trying to give some monies to those persons who we owe, which will happen within the next week or two, and then we will look at the restart of that Programme which you will be made aware off.” Source: gov.gd

GRENADA GOVERNMENT MOVING TO RESUME HOUSE REPAIR PROGRA...
Ms Delma Thomas ,please it is good to hear that your government is advancing/resuming the House Repair Programme ,but please why all this Blame ,Blame and continued Blaming the previous Government on what they did or did not do,for the same can be said when your government left office in 2008 there was a massive balance of payment owed to many Creditors and Foreign Governments with Grenada being taken to a New York court for non payment ,as a result of your then Government huge Borrowing and a lack of accountability and transparency,so please Ms Thomas get on with the programme and stop this blame game.
