COMMITTEE SETUP TO REVIEW APPLICATIONS FOR CHINESE HOUS...
A committee has been established to review applications for the 353 Chinese Housing Units in Soubise and Mt. Rush. Minister for Economic Development, Trade, Planning and Co-operatives, Hon. Oliver Joseph, said the houses in Soubise will be distributed soon, while those at Mt. Rush will be distributed as soon as remaining work is completed. Government’s plan is to distribute all units by the end of the year. “I think the Soubise [housing units] might be an easier one because, if you know Soubise, the people who live right on the shore will be a priority. If you suffered losses as a result of Hurricane Ivan – that will be a priority. If your income is under a certain threshold with a family of four or five – you will get priority,” Joseph said. “Really, it’s for the vulnerable people and it will not be sold at market cost. The price will be based on the cost of the infrastructure [and] not really the cost of the house. It will not be sold at market value because we want to ensure that the people who really need it get the houses.” With regard to the House Repair Programme, Minister Joseph says Cabinet has decided to double the One Million EC Dollar allocation and it hopes to make this a reality before the end of the financial year. COMMITTEE SETUP TO REVIEW APPLICATIONS FOR CHINESE HOUS...
Good news ,bur lets wait and see as to who gets what and what process was used and it is fair to say that the urgent need of the needy should first be consider and not WHO supports WHO,because ever since this Government came into power they have talk the talk about unification but so far all that is happening is a program that shows JOBS for the loyalist and their supporters which falls in the face of the pm when he said that his vision for Grenada is to unite all fractions of our people ,which i am afraid to say is currently the reverse, for one only have to take a look at his government and the level of quangos that has been set up mainly staffed with their supporters at the expense of hard working experience servants since the NNP came into power,
