PRESIDENT OBAMA'S VISIT SHOULD IMPROVE REGIONAL RELATIO...
This week’s visit of US President Barack Obama to Jamaica, and the meeting with heads of state and government of Caribbean Community (CARICOM), should deepen bilateral relations between the US and the region, the White House said on Tuesday. Deputy national security advisor for strategic communications at the White House, Ben Rhodes, said several areas of mutual interest exist between the United States and CARICOM, including regional security and energy stability. Rhodes further noted that the US is keenly interested in youth development and plans to foster greater partnerships with the youth of the region. “The fact that the president is doing a town hall in Jamaica dedicated to the youth, indicates our understanding that there is a tremendous youth population in these countries, and that carries with it enormous promise. If we’re investing in the youth of the Caribbean, we can expand our ties,” he said Rhodes was speaking in a White House press call on Tuesday, to preview the president’s visit to Jamaica. Issues of mutual interest between the US and CARICOM will be raised during bilateral discussions between the president and heads of state and government of CARICOM, on Thursday. Obama will visit Jamaica from April 8 to 9 while on his way to the seventh Summit of the Americas in Panama. Source: carib news

PRESIDENT OBAMA'S VISIT SHOULD IMPROVE REGIONAL RELATIO...
Mr Ron,sir i am concerned by your post and i quote your request,Like tell them and i take that you mean the President and his team to advise the Heads of Caricom Leaders to legalise The weed, now i am boubd to say that what the Caribbean region and its leaders need right now is some serious investment from the Americans, like a fairer Fair Trade Trading, again investments in our Agro industry ,Education, infrastructure,Health and not as suggested by the brother Ron and his Weed ,yes it is reported that certain states in the USA have or in the process of legalising The weed, but hey that is America ,big and strong and they have the resouces to address the fall out from the excessive misuse of drugs compared that to Grenada or the other Caricom islands,so my brother i am not with you on this one ,for there are much better productive things that the Americans can do that we need and which would benifit our young and old people in the areas that i have mention earlier, especially here in Grenada.

Mr Gabe,we had the opportunity in 1983 when America invaded our sovereign and independent nation, then and there we should of ask for 99 years of preferential treatment for our Bananas, cocoa and other products, but our weak minds cannot conceive self interest. We were so happy just to have them here, now South America and other nations get the status. On the weed America is making the great profit, also the Netherlands. We have to think outside the box and stop being followers and lead for once in our lives,no nation can rise with your kind of mentality, they will always be in the foot stool of their masters.

Bro.Ron,i do hope that you had understand where i was coming from in my response to your first post,my brother i am not a big fan of the Americans and their foreign policies, and yes i will agree with you re 1983 and the resulting outcome of their no show in terms of repairing the political, and financial damages that was done by them in Grenada in their so called intervention in our country at that given time ,so my brother we are on par here, but your take on the weed again ,i am against you on the fact that some drugs users in general do leave behind serious and damaging outcomes mentally and the lost of young lives, and in some cases a high level of crimes to feed their habits resulting in a massive financial and social burden on families and the state.
