GRENADA RECEIVES HIGH RATINGS FOR CRICKET PREPARATIONS  
Sports minister Emmalin Pierre says government is convinced the right decision was made to move other sporting activities around the country, in preparation for next week’s test match between West Indies and England. Grenada has been commended for the level of preparation put into ensuring the event is a success. The minister commended the grounds staff for the transformation of the field and expressed satisfaction for the work done so far. According to the sports minister preparations of the field is still ongoing with emphasis now focused on the wickets. Minister Pierre says that “the government of Grenada and the Ministry of Sports made the right decision” to move all sporting activities from the cricket stadium to other venues around the island, as a results “we have been given very high ratings as it relates to what we have achieved”. Meanwhile the minister assures the public that they would feel like they are in another country on arrival at the stadium because of the transformation of the field. Additional support was solicited from the Chinese Embassy which readily supports Grenada preparation efforts. Source: gov.gd
