WINDIES BEAT ENGLAND BY FIVE WICKETS TO LEVEL TEST SERI...
A superb century stand between Darren Bravo and Jermaine Blackwood piloted West Indies to an emphatic win over England in the third Test at Kensington Oval, on Sunday (May 3). It was their first victory over England since the opening match of the 2009 series in Kingston, Jamaica. Left-hander Bravo made a stroke-filled 82 while Blackwood made 47 not out, which included the winning runs in front a crowd of over 8,000 at the historic venue. They added 108 for the fifth wicket as the West Indies made 194-5 to chase down a tricky target of 192 on the third day of the match. The 23-year-old Blackwood earned the Man-of-the-Match award. He top-scored with 85 off 88 balls in the first innings, which followed up his maiden century in the first Test three weeks ago. He ended the series with 311 runs (average 77.75). The result was set-up by the West Indies bowlers who bowled out the visitors for 123 in the second innings. New ball bowler Jerome Taylor (3-33), left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul (3-43) and seamer Jason Holder (3-15) did the damage in a disciplined performance. Taylor ended the series with 11 wickets at 18 runs each in two matches. It was a superb result for the West Indies as they rebounded from the defeat on the second match in Grenada. England won the second Test in Grenada by nine wickets while the opening game of the three-match series in Antigua was drawn. Scoreboard England 1st Innings 257 (A Cook 105, M.
