ZIKA UPDATE: GRENADA GOVERNMENT GIVING PREGNANT WOMEN P...
Pregnant women, especially those in the first trimester as well as mothers to be, will get priority treatment once testing begins to determine if they are infected with the Zika virus. Health Minister Hon. Nickolas Steele says a representative from the Paris based Women and Health Association International and an official from the UAE are in Grenada to assist the country in those efforts. “We will start with pregnant women first off and anyone who may show symptoms of Zika but what needs to be recognized is that four out of every five people that would get Zika would not show any symptoms. So we want to make sure that we protect first off pregnant women, mothers to be,” minister Steele said. During the weekly post cabinet briefing on Wednesday Minister Steele continues to appeal for diligence and pro-active measures. “The WHO has said that this regardless of any efforts made by governments and health systems in the region that it will spread through the region,” the health minister added. ZIKA UPDATE: GRENADA GOVERNMENT GIVING PREGNANT WOMEN P...
It is excellent news that as reported by our ministry of health minister that two expert in Tropical medicine will be visiting Grenada to assist in what ever way with reference to that deadly ZIKA disease, but what is a shame here is that we have learnt nothing it seems from the recent outbreak of the CHIK-GUYNA Visus and the impact it left on many of our young and elderly people here in grenada ,also it is right to note that right here on our own soil in our very own country Grenada have one of the world best Tropical Teaching Body in the form of the SGU(ST GEORGES UNIVERSITY) and once again our people is at the mercy of others from outside to come to our assistance, and to quote a saying That the Wealth of a Nation depends on the Health of its people ,and while our government is busy championing and appeasing the hotels investors questions must be asked as to why nothing is being done to get some of these same investors to invest in a new Hospital or even a Sub -Hospital equipt with up to date medicine, skilled medical staffs and equiptment. Just asking as a very concern Grenadian.
