GRENADA GOVERNMENT TO ASSIST WINDIES UNDER-19 STARS
The Grenada government has announced its intention to assist West Indies under-19 cricket star Ryan John. Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell disclosed the information to John during a meeting on Friday. Economic Development Minister Oliver Joseph also attended the meeting with John, a resident of St. David’s. The aid will come in various forms including help to improve his living condition and financial assistance to study abroad. “We will do everything we can on a national level to support your growth in the game, be it helping to improve you living conditions, providing financial assistance for you to play or study abroad,” Prime Minister Mitchell told John. “Whatever we can do, we will do it, so that you can focus on harnessing your cricket prowess”. The Prime Minister’s meeting with John came in the wake of his stellar performance in which he captured three wickets for 38 runs to help West Indies beat India to win the ICC under 19 World Cup. “The Government of Grenada and indeed, several other Governments in the region, have already decided that we are not going to wait or depend on the West Indies Cricket Board to put the appropriate structures in place for your cricketing development”, said Dr. Mitchell. MP Oliver Joseph will ensure that the assistance is channelled in the different areas to the young cricketer. The MP for Carriacou and Petite Martinique, Honourable Elvin Nimrod, will also ensure that Emmanuel Stewart, another excellent performer on the victorious West Indies Under-19 team, receives assistance to hone his cricketing skills. GRENADA GOVERNMENT TO ASSIST WINDIES UNDER-19 STARS
Prime minister Mitchell,it is noted that you and your government have now realised that the only way some Grenadians can obtain any meaningful assistance to obtain a better life is to get involved and excel in some sort of sporting activity then money will be found to assist them with improving their living conditions and also assist in advancing their education abroad, well well it now seems that you and your government only comes to the aid of the under privilege when they achieved some sort of world performance but hey what about those others in grenada who is currently struggling with everyday life under your Government or as some would say is this another of your Government political hand outs spin game for political gains by your Government
