MINISTER ALEXANDRA OTWAY-NOEL RESIGNS
Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Keith Mitchell has thanked former Minister Hon. Alexandra Otway-Noel for her services to the government following a joint meeting to discuss her expressed wish to continue her representation as an MP of St George’s South. Hon. Otway-Noel, over the past few weeks, had been discussing with the Prime Minister the possibility of her resigning from the Cabinet so as to engage in some personal pursuits. The former minister had made the decision so that there could be no conflict—real or imagined—arising from these personal pursuits. Prime Minister Mitchell accepted her ministerial resignation, and thanked her for her openness and contribution; wishing her well in the process. He noted that her resignation as a minister will not be a loss to the national politics, as she is committed to continuing fighting for the empowerment of the people as Member of Parliament for South St George and as a proud and serving member of the New National Party. In a statement posted on her Facebook page, Otway-Noel said that she had resigned from her Government position to pursue a number of “exciting opportunities in the private sector” and has agreed to ensure a smooth transition to her as yet unnamed successor. “It has been a privilege and an honour to serve the prime minister, the Government and the nation of Grenada,” she said, noting that in her role of minister of tourism she oversaw a number of high-profile initiatives including the repositioning and rebranding of the tourism sector, which led to the birth of the ‘Pure Grenada, The Spice of the Caribbean’ market proposition. The former minister of tourism, civil aviation and culture also had responsibility for the promotion of the Citizenship by Investment programme. Sources: gov.gd, ja observer

MINISTER ALEXANDRA OTWAY-NOEL RESIGNS
No, there's no conflicts of interest here. Number one: while serving as minister of toyrism, etc., an opportunity presented itself...too lucrative, promising, guaranteed and profitable to not give-in and trade off for a position that often comes with internal fighting, supervision of a workforce with no work ethics (think of your Frontline employees sit at a desk filing their finger nails and toe nails, suckling their teeth when asked to do something or being unable to correct staff due to poor customer service). Some of us in the civil sector are very difficult to manage. No one nerds the extra stress. Simultaneously, when senior staff are threatened on grounds of political differences, that can also be reason to look elsewhere. The honorable sister, I commend you for seeking greener pastures and for your honesty of of publicly stating your reasons for resigning. The Russians are coming!

Statement says i am leaving to persue personal Business at first ( but will still remain a government Minister)and then later to persue Private Business interest outside ,now here is the 1 billion dollar question "is there not a conflict of interest somewhere in the marlee" whereby a serving government minister is resigning his or her post to take up business within the private sector yet still retaining full government salary while serving other master/masters and one must ask as to how can this minister or any other minister serves two masters and yet remains neutral when it comes to trasnparency and accountability. Lord grenada politics so Nice where the have is having more and the have nots is still awaiting that promise delivery train.
