Attorney-at-law Mr. Darshan Ramdhani is Grenada’s new AttorneyGeneral.
Mr. Ramdhani was sworn in by Governor General, Dame Cecile La Grenade on Tuesday.
He replaces Legal Affairs Minister, Honourable Kindra Mathurine-Stewart who has been acting in the position since former Attorney General, Sir Lawrence Joseph demitted office last year.
As Attorney General, Mr. Ramdhani is the principal legal advisor to the Government of Grenada.
Mr. Ramdhani has extensive experience in the legal field, having been an attorney for more than 20 years. He has served as a judge in several regional territories including St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Antigua, British Virgin Islands and Anguilla.
The new Attorney General previously served as Grenada’s Solicitor General from November 2009 to June 2013 and Senior Crown Counsel from January 2003 to June 2007.
He also served as the Acting Director of Public Prosecution for various two-month periods between 2006 and 2007.
Mr. Ramdhani, a Guyanese national who moved to Grenada in the early 2000's, is admitted to practice law in Grenada, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and the state of New York in the USA.

Now bro.Joe i agree with you that there is now a smell of nastiness with an air of a one party state of Mitchell and Peter David style of governance here in Grenada and yes you are correct on your take as to the type of cronies that this Mitchell and Peter David Government is now bringing into Grenada ,for is this Mitchell government saying that there is a lack of internationally recognised Grenadian Law specialist here in Grenada to run and manage the rule of law over our Grenadian people or is this a case of PLANTING your own man into the highest legal hot seat in the land this coming from a man who profess as he always claims to LOVE Grenada and Grenadians ,hey you can fool me Mr PM ,lord i pray for deliverance for our little Grenada and her people,Mr Mitchell some months ago the voters of Grenada gave you and your party a full deck with no opposition, alas it seems that you now once again have the upper hand to do as you like by the constant abuse of YOUR POWER,

Why a Grenadian wasn't selected for the position? Grenada has many qualified attorneys to do that job. This is the chief lawman to implement laws for Grenadians. Is this just politics?

Brotherd i so do agree with you,for example a few years ago we had a brilliant minister of Tourisum who was moved into the the Pm ministry of implementaion and a so called Tourisum wise man from Barbados was given charge of bringing Tourisum business into Grenada,alas it is now said that this wise man have since left his post and gone back to Barbados,lord Grenada politics is nice for so.
