PRIME MINISTER VISITS WITH OSCAR BARTHOLOMEW'S WIFE
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, 4 JANUARY, 2012_ Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has assured Mrs. Dolette Bartholomew, the widow of Oscar Bartholomew, who died as a result of an incident at a police station in St. David on Boxing Day, that his office will ensure that the investigation into the death of her husband will be thorough, complete and professional. The Prime Minister gave the assurance to Mrs. Bartholomew and other members of her husband’s family during a meeting at their home in Grand Anse, on Wednesday evening, Mr. Thomas, who is also responsible for National Security, extended his condolences to the family and said he was “greatly saddened” at the incident. “This is a regrettable tragedy and a painful experience for you, for his extended family and for all of us in Grenada. Our first priority is to ensure that the investigation is transparent and that justice prevails,” the Prime Minister told Mrs. Bartholomew, who was accompanied by her lawyer, Derick Sylvester. “We will take all the necessary steps to ensure, if at all possible, that this situation is never repeated in Grenada,” the Grenadian leader told Mrs. Bartholomew, acknowledging that the wide spread publicity given to the death of her husband has affected Grenada’s image as a law abiding country where the rights of people are respected. “I have many friends in Grenada and we came here for a visit with family and friends, not for this. All I want to see is justice,” Mrs. Bartholomew told the Prime Minister. The Grenadian leader has called for a review of the policy governing persons held in police custody, to ensure that they are treated appropriately.

Observer, we really need more people like you to speak out on our behalf. You sure tell it like it is. If only we had someone like you on the ground in every community, then the abuse we see daily would some how have to stop. I really like you style and please don't let our politicians, police or anyone scare you. You sure speak for many of us. May God bless you.

Yes, like Sam and Karen, I too the Observer wish to expose some of our past rats: Remember Scalay from Grenville Police Station some years ago. What did he do with the drugs seized? Let's hear it! Remember former RGPF officer Killer Dread who senselessly and without cause murdered that 14 yr old on the Carenage? He fled Grenada after the murder, returned home following the fall of the revolution and is living a lavish lifestyle right there in St. Georges. Why aren't there open investigations in similar cases? Why Mr. NDC Mouth PIece Gabe?

I hope Tillman Thomas' visit to the family of Oscar Bartholamew will continue to be a common practice when innocent poor Grenadians are senselessly murdered by our RGPF, Gang 17 members, and other criminals. We back here in Grenada (law abiding citizens) have been abused enough by the legal system. If you don't have the political clout, influence, connection or money to fight the police and system, your case or that of your love ones will definitely go unheard of. The full evidence surrounding Oscar's case will never become public. As Observer and Karen rightfully said: If the RGPF Coast Guard officers can tamper with material evidences and eyewitnesses to influence the outcome of trials and cases, then anything is possible with Oscar's murder. We are very lucky that Oscar has a wife who is from Canada and is not the nonsense person who would stoop to any and any treatment. This is an educated woman who knows what human rights is all about. If only our local parents, family members, neighbors and friends knew their human and Godgiven rights, our country legal system would be in much better shape. Where are the guns, drugs and other illegal stuffs seized by our Coast Guard Officers and officer on raids disappear to, Mr. Minister of Security? Why are our judges forces to release murderers, dope dealers, rapists, child molesters on our streets simply because the seizure of material evidences are stolen by RGPF offices who then sell them back on the street or accept bribes? Where is the integrity of the RGPF? And you guys know what I am talking about, so don't try to distort my claim. Some of you are making big time dollars covertly. Give those RGPF officers who are trying to uphold the law the weapon, security and integrity they need to carry out their duty. We need a thorough cleansing of the rats within the RGPF.
