Grenada’s Kirani James put on another outstanding performance to win 400m gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games now taking place in Glasgow, Scotland.
The 21-year-old Olympic gold medalist timed his race perfectly, easing into the second 200m and then kicking away from his nearest challenger to coast over the line at least .44 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
James won the event in a Commonwealth Games record time of 44.24 seconds, ahead of South Africa’s Wayde van Niekerk and Trinidad and Tobago’s Lalonde Gordon.
Team GC extends hearty congratulations to Kirani on his victory.
