Anthony Cruickshank was born in Morne Jaloux, St. George’s, Grenada on January 29, 1952 from the union of Denise Cruickshank and Wilson Bain (both deceased). He was the fourth of seven children and assisted his mother with raising his younger siblings. He began his formal education at Teacher Villina’s private school in Marian before transferring to St. Paul’s government school. His favorite pastimes were cooking, gardening, and riding his motor bike. At a very early age he engaged in construction work, specifically carpentry, masonry and plumbing. He left Grenada in the early 70s to pursue a career in the cruise industry. He was able to hone his craft as an executive pastry chef during that tenure. Later, in 1984 he retired from cruising and settled in New York to continue in the construction business as a master mason, plumber, and electrician. He enjoyed baking, cooking and entertaining. He later met and married his sweetheart, Theresa Webb on November 25, 1995. From this union came their son, Terry. Anthony will be forever remembered by his wife, Theresa; son, Terry; sisters: Ann, Margaret and Janice; brothers: Byron and Jeffrey; mother-in-law, Betty Webb; sisters-in-law: Nelcia, Angela, Lovenda, Yulanda Heath; brothers-in-law: Kelly Patrick, Raymond Thomas, Gary Webb, and Larry Webb; several nieces and nephews including Andy, Gillian, Haiden, Sherry-Ann, Sheree, Sherry-Ann, Shelvin, Shevon, Joshua, Evelyn and Maria; several dear friends including: Cousin Daniel, Selwyn, Mr. Anderson James, Tony Nembhard, Carlyle Daniel. He peacefully departed this life on Sunday, July 22, 2018. He will live in our memories and our hearts forever and we are, and will always be extremely proud to call ourselves the wife, son, brother, sister, relative or friend of Anthony Cruickshank.
