Winston Adrian Samuel Philip better known as "Andy" was born in Grenville, St Andrew, Grenada on August 18th, 1938. He was the first son to the decreased Miriam La Grenade and Byron Steele. As a young boy he attended St. Andrew's Methodist school. Upon leaving school, he worked at Bobby Wells mechanic shop for a while and then went on to learn tailoring. He became a master of this trade and opened his own tailor shop. Andy had a passion for designing and making carnival costumes. He was the first person from St. Andrew's to make and design a costume for "Champie" who won King of the Band that year. He was both a great soccer and cricket player. He also played the steel pan for Nightingale band and drums for Rhythm Riders band.
In December of 1983, Andy migrated to the USA. He worked at Dry Harbor Nursing Home and then transfered to Cabs Nursing Home where he worked for 26 years as a Dietary Aide. Andy and Gloria were married in 1985 and from that union had Andy Jr.
He was a very generous and friendly person who was always willing to help anyone in need. He helped the less fortunate kids by sewing school uniforms for free. Most of his life was spent loving and caring for family, friends and neighbors. He entered into eternal rest on Friday April 24th, 2020
