Veta Ancilla Byam, 92, wife of the late Garnet Byam of Happy Hill St. George’s Grenada died peacefully on Wednesday September 30, 2020 at her home in Rogers Avenue Brooklyn, NY. Mrs. Byam was born and raised in Happy Hill St. George’s. She was a homemaker, an exceptional great seamstress and an avid horticulturist . Her life was lived to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family cooking, feeding a community and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Mrs. Byam is survived by her children; Adrian (ABU) of Grenada, Sherma-Ann , Aileen and her husband Carl, Alana of Brooklyn NY, Gail of Florida, Fleurette of Brooklyn and Francine and her husband Barry of New Jersey. Seven Grandsons; Jay, Kareem, Sean, Marvin, Chad, Winston (Watu), Dunbar Jr. Three Granddaughters; Ashley, Danielle, and Candice. Two Great Grandsons; Anfernee, and Michael Jr. She is also survived by her brother Randolph of Happy Hill, Nephews and Nieces of the Augustine family of Grenada, Hood family of Happy Hill, Grenada, Ferguson family of Canada. Close family friend Judith and Oswald of Brooklyn. Numerous relative and friends in Grenada and the United States. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her two children: Dunbar Byam and Sherman Byam. A service remembrance will be held at 9:20 a.m. on Friday, October 9, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church located at 2530 Church Avenue, Brooklyn NY . Interment will be at the Evergreens Cemetery, 1629 Bushwick Ave, Brooklyn NY. Family and friends and others who lives Ancilla Veta touched are invited to reminisce, grieve, support each other and just chat.
