Special Info
Nelcia Ann Goodings Nee Duncan was born on July 16th, 1930, to Octavia and Daniel Duncan in Beaulieu, St. George’s Grenada. She was the youngest of her siblings.
She was the wife of the late Cuthbert Goodings, better known as Red’s, who passed away at a very young age.
Life was very hard and difficult with seven young children to care for, the youngest Terrance was only six months. With little financial help mom had to make some serious decisions.
Mom migrated to the USA and after some years, with the help of her eldest daughter, was able to make a better life for her children.
Mom was well known for being a strong, energetic, and caring woman. Her joy in life were her children, she always worried about them. She would always sing and read to them. The last song she sang before leaving to the USA was “Leaving on a Jet Plane, don't know when I’ll be back again.”
Mom worked as an HHA for many years in Brooklyn, N.Y. until she retired. In her later years would socialize with her children and share all her life stories from when she was very young.
The Lord God Almighty called her home one week after her 93rd birthday the 24th of July 2023.
Mom you will be missed by friends and family. May your soul rest in peace.
