Special Info  “For now I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. Which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing.” II Timothy 4:6-8. Geraldine (Gertrude) Church, a spirited Mother, Grandmother, and church going enthusiast, was born on May 30th, 1923 to David Clark and Louisa Roberts in Grand Mall, Grenada. She died on January 10th, 2015 at Downstate Medical Hospital Brooklyn, New York only a few months after celebrating her 91st birthday. Geraldine and her late husband, Claude Church had five children: Claudette, Denise, Joan, Clifton, and Don. In addition to her five children, Geraldine had a daughter, Roslyn from a prior relationship. Geraldine attended the St. Louis’ R.C Girls School in St. George’s, Grenada where she graduated. Throughout her life, Geraldine was a spry, active and a very religious woman. She worked as an Aide at the General Hospital in Grenada for several years. She was a remarkable, hardworking, dedicated, witty and caring individual. On many occasions she would make special trips to visit the sick and needy. She made great sacrifices to make sure that her children had what they needed and was very stern in teaching them the values of life. In the early eighties, Geraldine migrated to the USA and worked for several years as a Home Attendant before retiring. After retiring, she took up crocheting and knitting and visited her native country of Grenada frequently. She was also an active Christian who accepted the Lord as her saviour at an early age. She attended church on a regular basis until her ailments limited her mobility. Geraldine is survived by her six children: Roslyn White, Claudette George, Denise George, Joan Gray, Clifton and Don Church; two sisters: Cinderella George who resides in Trinidad and Ruby Charles; and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
