The funeral service for the late Neri Mark will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Pope Funeral Home (2617 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC, 20020). There will be a viewing held from 4 to 5 pm with the service beginning at 5 pm.

On May 26th, 1947 in Munich, St. Andrew's Grenada, Festus Mark and Magdelene Jule Mark nee Charles gave birth to their fifth child. This boy child was named Neri Philip Mark.
Neri grew up in a God-fearing family and attended church at Holy Cross R.C in Munich. He had his elementary schooling at Holy Cross (Munich) R.C School. From there he went on to St. Andrew's Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) from 1962 to 1967, where he had his high school education. In 1968, Neri returned to his elementary school working as a teacher. He served there until 1970.
In 1970 Neri migrated to the U.S to Washington DC. He attended the DC Teachers College from 1972 to 1975 acquiring his Bachelors of Arts in Education. Neri then attended Howard University College of Dentistry from 1975 to 1979 and went on to do his Dental Residency at Providence Hospital from 1979 to 1981. On the completion of his Dental Residency, Neri moved to Michigan where he worked as a dentist from 1981 to 1990.
In 1990, Neri moved back to the DC area and worked as a dentist at his practice in Temple Hills, Maryland until 2004. He then moved to practice in Mitchellville, Maryland worked there from 2004 to 2014.
During his many years as a dentist Neri was a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association and a member of the National Dental Association.
On September 24th, 2016, Dr. Neri Philip Mark went on to eternal rest with the Lord. He left to mourn his 3 children; Garvin, Larry and Nerissa Mark, 4 grandchildren; Bryson Neri Philip Mark, Alyssa Nadella Mark, Mekhi Prince Mark and Skylar Latarsha Givens. His mother; Barbara Mark, 6 brothers; Joseph (JT), Frederick, Nesfield, Banfield, Bernard and Hamlet Mark and his sister Avis Mark. Many nephews including John, Mark, Keishaun, Kaezim, Benicio, Bishop and Hamiyd. Many nieces including Ann Marie, Evette, Kayleen, Kalisha, Zena and many other friends and family who loved and appreciated him dearly.
He will be greatly missed.
