It is with great sadness that the Thomas family announces the death of John Walter Thomas also known as “Jah Jah” and “Cuppie” of Mirabeau, St Andrew’s who resided in Brooklyn NY. He passed away on 6th December 2019 at the age of 85. Left to mourn is his wife Lenore Thomas. Father of: Sheridan, Judney (deceased), Judie-Ann, Roland, Veron, Juliet (deceased), Betty-Ann, Patrick, Nicole, Rosson, Leah and Godfrey. Grandfather of 48 including: Camarsha, Akirra, Keiffonte, Nimrod, Tito, Miomi, Melissa, Maurisa, Marvin, Meonda, Marlon, Ayanna, Brianna, Tijera, Marvin, Crystal, Michael, Jermaine, Aemilia, O’Sheama, Samirra, Ayesha, Akim, Alim, Sasha, Avril, Akisha, Roisha, Monique, Crystal, Aniah, Brandon, Ivory, Jada, Joshua, Angel, Jason, Kevin, Rashid, Great grandfather of 35 and great great grandfather of King Jayce Thomas. Brother of Myra and Sybil Thomas (deceased). Uncle of many including: Herman (Tolly) Alexander, Alan, Patsy and Desaline St Cyr. Brother-in-law of Atkinson, Vidie, Vitus and Lambert Felix. Sister-in-law of Yvonne (Princess) Billy and Jemma Felix of Birchgrove. Son-in-law of Harry Sutter, Mario Baumann and Jamal Clarke. Many other friends and family including Gary and Corine Thomas in the USA, Denise and Gill family in London, Marigold Noel and family in Grenada, Yvette Schure and family, Yvonne Noel and family, St Cyr family in USA and Grenada, Felix, Thomas and Noel family in Grenada and USA, Green House Boys, Lisa King and Romaine. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday 17th December 2019 at Caribe Funeral Service, 1922 Utica Avenue, Brooklyn, NY - viewing from 4 to 6pm and service from 6pm. Interment on Wednesday 18th December 2019 at 11.30am at the Canarsie Cemetery, 1370 Remsen Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. John Walter Thomas had so many friends and family from Grenada, USA and England too many to to mention here but all loved by him. In turn we all love him for the joy he brought to our lives. We would miss him dearly. We thank God he was a part of our family. His memory will be cherished FOREVER.
