Dr. F. Carl Gilkes also known as Jeff passed away in Brooklyn, New York on Monday, April 14th 2014 at the age of 67. Dr. F. Carl Gilkes was born in St. Paul's, St. George’s, Grenada, West Indies on February 11, 1947. He was the second child of the late Adina and Elliot Gilkes. He migrated to the United States to pursue a career in Electro- Mechanical Technology. While there, he served in the U.S. Army and later returned to Grenada. He was employed by the OECS Air Radio division at Point Saline International Airport as the engineer in charge of installation and maintenance of the equipments. In 1999, he returned to the U.S.A. He enjoyed religious studies and obtained his doctorate in Theology. He authored, 'An Introduction to End Times.' He is survived by his sisters: Una Williams & Doreen Gilkes in the USA, Rita Padmore in Grenada &Theresa James in Trinidad. Brothers: Frank ‘Ivor’ Gilkes in the USA, Keith Gilkes & Matthew Williams in Grenada. Uncles: Karl Cecil 'KC' Edwards & Teddy Edwards in the USA and George Edwards in Grenada. He is also survived by three sisters in law, Beverly Gilkes in the USA, Gillian Gilkes in Grenada and Maria Williams in Grenada. Many nieces and nephews including Marva, Chanitra, Shane, Douglas, Ruben and other relatives and friends including Pastor Crow, David Gibbs, Dr. Francis Alexis, Keith Alexander, Sydney Charles, Wendy Austin, Norma Prosper, Hilary James, Christine Andrews & Dolores Steele in Grenada.
