Martha Thomas from Sendall Street,Grenville, St. Andrew’s passed away peacefully on Sunday May 7, 2020 in Toronto,Canada. She lived to see 74 amazing years.
She was better known as Miss.Girley ,Mom and Mama to most. Miss. Girley was born on June 23,1945 in Grandbras St.Andrew's to the late Mrs. Helena Williams and Mr.Jeremiah St.John. She was a sibling to the late Nora Williams,Alister Williams (AKA Tommy Jack),Franklyn St.John,and was a sibling to the present Alice Williams,Daniel Williams,Raymond St.John,Michelle St.John,Nigel St.John.
She was married to Mr.Jeremiah Thomas"Papa Jerry" from Sendall street St.Andrews. Miss.Girley raised 2 wonderful children Annmarie Williams and Anderson Thomas. She was a mother figure to all 7 of her grand-children.Lashawn Williams, Devonte Thomas,the late Helen&Helena Williams,Alicia Williams, Anson Thomas,Isabella Williams. With Joy she lived to see her first Great Grand daughter Aniyah Williams.
Miss.Girley was a God fearing religious woman that was a member of Grenville Anglican Church up to 2007 when she decided to, started a new spiritual journey with Grace Spiritual Healing Temple of Baptist Faith in Toronto, Canada.
Miss.Girley will always be remembered for her great sense of humour and passion for telling stories, her big personality that would light up any room,gracious and compassionate spirit, and fashion sense.Miss.Girley enjoyed creating delicious meals and treats such as coconut tarts,hot cross buns,Bakes and many others. Miss.Girley also loved showing of her great talent of dancing to soca, gospel music and singing to her favourite "lucky dubby" songs.
Miss.Girley had so many friends and family Jill lewis,lynette Williams,sister,Carlvin Vincent "Road" and many others.We do appreciate all the condolences as our family is going through a difficult time.We all loved her for the joy she brought to our lives and she will never be forgotten. We would miss her dearly. We thank God she was a part of our family. Her memory will be cherished endlessly.
